Class-Action Lawsuit against Applebee’s and Weightwatchers

A class action lawsuit was filed against Applebee’s and Weightwatchers in January, alleging that the companies intentionally mislead consumers about the nutritional information of certain food products.
The allegations came after investigators ordered take-out food, put it on ice and sent it to a laboratory in Idaho for testing. What they found out was that some dishes had as much as three times the amount of fat as labeled.

Specifically, the Cajun Lime Tilapia dish was advertised to have six grams of fat, but the laboratory, Analytical Labs of Boise Idaho, found that it actually had 12 grams. Likewise, the Garlic Herb Chicken was advertised as having six grams of fat, and was determined to have 18 grams instead.
