The ex-wife of Steven Cohen, the billionaire hedge fund manager and founder of SAC Capital Advisors, has filed a suit alleging her ex-husband hid millions of dollars from her in their early 90’s divorce proceedings.
Cohen’s former wife, Patricia Finke, is suing for $300 million. While these types of post-marital lawsuits are not uncommon, what makes this case unique is that Finke also accuses Cohen of insider trading.
In her suit, Finke alleges that Cohen admitted to her that in 1985 he had profited from his insider knowledge of General Electric’s acquisition of RCA. She says that Cohen once told her insider trading was a civil matter and not a criminal one, according to the New York Times.
Now, apparently, she wants a piece of that money.
