Big Shot CEO’s EthiGear Selection Q4

Tools for Ethical Leadership

// Big Shot CEODear Editor…“Let’s face it- any magazine worth anything these days has a new products or “gear” section. When I suggested this to the editors at Ethisphere, they said, “Great, we’ll make you the product tester for our new Ethigear section.” I’m a busy guy, but I believe in public service. So now, in advance of each issue of Ethisphere, the editors send me a bucket load of products to try out. Some products are good. Some hurt. Some I barely even know what they are, but I do try to find a use for them. Regardless, I hope you find my reviews helpful. And be sure to visit the product websites to buy or learn more about them.

BacknobberBacknobber
Designed by The Pressure Positive Company, this hand-held massage tool allows you to give yourself your own stress releasing, relaxing massage to the head, neck, shoulders and other muscles throughout the body without overusing your own hands and fingers. Learn more at www.pressurepositive.com

CEO tester review: Thumbs up for this brilliant piece of engineering. Nothing shows greater appreciation for employees than a back itcher. I ordered 10 crates of ‘em direct from China. Really a new twist on the old adage “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours.”

Mama ChairMama Chair
The Embracing Mama Chair makes all of its occupants feel special. With its long arms which reach around the torso of the sitting individual, the individual is calmed by the cozy hug. The chair is made by Lithuanian home designer Rasa Baradinskiene. Learn more at http://teo.esuper.rp/lifestyle/mama-chair

CEO tester review:While I thought that this would make employees more productive by ‘holding’ them at their desks, upon trying it I found it CREEPY. I didn’t get a lot of hugs as a child- and frankly this chair isn’t going to start making up for it now. Right now it’s hugging the dumpster out back.

Wear Your SeatWear Your Seat
This innovative backpack is designed so that it can easily be sat on as well. With a rigid form, ergonomic seating nearly leaves you behind (*literally). Designed by Oliver Peyricot. Learn more at www.idsland.com

CEO tester review: Memo to “Mr. Innovative Designer”: this product seems to be designed for thin people only. Granted a few martinis have left their mark on my midsection- and I like to look “perfect,” but that does not extend to “perfectly round.” No endorsement here.

Grass WheelGrass Wheel
This eight foot circumference wheel has fresh grass laid on it so that when you think to yourself, “It sure would be nice to walk barefoot and commune with nature on my way to my next appointment,” you can!

CEO tester review: If I have to water it but can’t practice putting on it, then I don’t want it. End of story.

TravelerThe Traveler’s Phrase Book T-Shirt
This handy T-shirt solves international disputes and daily problems by having the key symbols of a phrase book printed right on it. Simply point a finger at the pictogram you need and then point twice at the question mark or shrug your shoulders. It is now safe to travel the world. The shirt can be purchased at http://store.artlebedev.com

CEO tester review: At first I was skeptical and would have preferred that they made a fur coat version so I wouldn’t come across as a flasher when operating in cold climates like Russia. But then I had a brilliant idea- with all the “diversity” we have in the office these days, sometimes employees have trouble communicating so I commissioned a special batch for our workforce that also included pictures of a stapler, a conference room, a time sheet, an angry boss and a computer.

Banana GuardBanana Guard
Are you fed up with bringing bananas to work or school only to find them bruised and squashed? This unique, patented and ventilated device allows for the safe transport and storage of individual bananas letting you enjoy perfect bananas anytime, anywhere. Learn more at: www.bananaguard.com

CEO tester review: Bananas are healthy for everyone- and this product works! It also silences any critics of American ingenuity, research and development. I carry one in my pocket whenever I travel overseas. Others’ astonished looks assure me that with R&D churning out products like this, America’s long-term global competitiveness is assured.
